Lakeside offers six lighted courts; four har-tru and two all weather versa-courts. The courts are open to members for the extended season (April – November), weather permitting.
There are many tennis programs available including group and individual lessons from experienced professionals, multi-level clinics and the popular new adult cardio-tennis. Adults may participate on various competitive teams beginning in May (Dogwood League, USTA womens, mens and mixed doubles teams) and summer junior teams. Akash Lamba will be returning to Lakeside for his 13th season. He was the # 1 ranked player in India in Juniors under 18 and was among the Top 5 in the Men’s Division in 1991. He graduated from Samford University, Birmingham, AL, in May 1996 with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. He is a certified USPTA professional and has lived and taught tennis in the Ridgefield area since 1997.He teaches at Chestnut Ridge Racquet Club in Mt. Kisco in the fall and winter.
Akash strives for simplicity in his teaching so that most recreational players can learn the game reasonably well in a relatively short time and be able to play with their loved ones. He believes that a common-sense, practical approach makes tennis more enjoyable and fun for recreational players. He takes a very personal approach towards everyone, examining students’ playing styles, needs, and goals to recommend the simplest solutions which will have the biggest impact on their game.
